Bernard Chase

Bernard enjoyed a 45 year commercial career in the plastics industry, owning and running an SME for over 20 years before taking up Director roles in larger corporate enterprises working in the plastics recycling sector. A final 4 year stint as ‘plastics industry specialist’ with the Government advisory body on waste, WRAP, led up to retirement in Filby where volunteer work for the Norfolk Wildlife Trust and treasureship of All Saints Filby compete with time spent exploring the East Coast of Britain in his sailing boat.

 

Adrian Thompson

Farmer, Filby’s Postmaster and owner of local convenience store. Recently elected Borough Councillor, Chairman of Filby’s Parish Council, its Playing Field Committee and Filby in Bloom. In the latter role, he managed the village’s first entry into Anglia in Bloom, in 1995, its first success as Best Village in 1999 and in both 2002 and in 2017, the achievement of the ultimate accolade of Category Winner in the Britain in Bloom Competition.

 

Derek Nicker

Retired, former Technical Director of an electronics manufacturer. Parish Councillor, a Trustee of Filby Bells Restoration and sits on Filby’s Playing Field Committee.
